Founded in 1931 by Harry T. Okada, Okada Trucking
Co., Ltd. began as a trucking company providing hauling services for
site work contractors on Oahu. Business grew and during World
War II it was quite challenging for a Japanese owned business to
survive. Mr. Okada successfully found a niche - During World War
II Okada Trucking provided equipment repair services to the military
which allowed the business to continue thriving.
After World War II Mr. Okada's son, Sonny T. Okada, took over the
leadership and expanded operations to include site work, building
construction, and property development. This expansion lead to
the company becoming a major player in the construction industry and
as a property developer throughout the State of Hawaii.
Today Okada Trucking is a General Contractor with over 77 years of
experience. With the guidance of Mr. Harry T. Okada's grandson,
Gav in T. Hubbard, Okada Trucking continues to be a significant force
in the construction industry and the business community.
Okada Trucking is proud to be a family owned operation which maintains
the business philosophies passed down from generation to generation.
These philosophies allow for the continued success in Hawaii's
competitive construction environment. |
